Description of what it is used for
Automated microscope for rapidly screening Genetically Encoded Voltage Indicators (GEVIs)
Description of its capabilities
This microscope can screen libraries of Genetically Encoded Voltage Indicators (GEVIs) in 96-well plates. The system can sequentially position a pair of stimulating electrodes in individual wells and image the change in cellular fluorescence in response to field stimulation. Software can automatically analyze the resulting images and identify the wells containing promising new GEVIs.
